Setting section
This section is intended for setting specific operation parameters of UCDS software, software language change, UCDS V5 adapter settings to work in wireless mode.

CAN BUS speed adaptation
This parameter allows you to ‘slow down’ the transmission of data to the module. Each the frame of the command being sent to the data bus will be delayed by corresponding amount of time specified in the table. Default set to Auto, which allows the adapter to automatically select speed of sending data, based on the parameters received from the modules, in the process of communicating with them.
Note
In some cases, it may be necessary to ‘slow down’ such an communication. Sometimes it is related to the specifics of the modules, sometimes it is related for vehicles equipped with a GWM (Gateway module). However, overwhelmingly, this parameter should be used in the ‘Auto’ without changing the speed. If you have any questions for a specific module, contact with developers for clarification information.
Warning
Please note that this adaptation will be relevant to ALL available tires in the car. Also in case you are on for some reason you forgot to set this parameter back to ‘Auto’. There will be a significant loss of speed when updating modules. Treat this parameter with special care!

Change interface language
This parameter allows you to change the language of the UCDS software interface on the fly

Change interface language
Note
We draw your attention, despite the fact that the change of language takes place in on-the-fly mode, some elements may remain in the same language. This is due to technical features of the UCDS software and is not an error. We recommend restarting the UCDS software to fully change the interface language.
Adapter Diagnostic Query
Special functionality that allows you to query diagnostic information from the adapter, for subsequent transfer to its developer. This information saved in the program logs ( folder …UCDS_V3\Logs ), which are in the consequences will need to be passed on to the developers.
Note
Used ONLY at the request of the developers and only in specific ones situations.
Check software update
Despite the fact that UCDS V3 software has a built-in system for checking for the availability of updates when the software is launched and informing the user about it, this function can query the presence of a UCDS V3 software update on the server, with subsequent output of the result.
Software operation options
A few basic options for running UCDS V3.

Change interface language
Options are responsible for various modes of operation, namely:
Prevent Windows from hibernating - Prevents the OS from displaying PC in low power mode, by INACTIVITY timer on PC.This option is enabled BY DEFAULT. Disabling this option does not recommended. Otherwise, during the update of the module and user inactivity, the PC will go to ‘sleep’ mode, which will lead to a break module programming process and possible problems.
Activation of the scheme ‘Maximum performance’ - this parameter will force your PC to switch to the ‘Maximum Performance’ scheme forced WITHOUT your participation. This option is recommended use only for a short period of time for maximum increasing PC performance.
Warning
This setting will SIGNIFICANTLY reduce your PC’s run time on battery!
Show ‘Favorites’ at startup - when this option is enabled, the software UCDS will show a tab on the home screen upon launch ‘Favorites’. Otherwise, the main screen will be displayed.
Enable the CANBUS data availability icon in the tray - when this option is activated, UCDS software after startup and successful initialization will display an icon in the tray, which is an indicator of receiving\transmitting bus data on CANBUS

Configuring the adapter to work in wireless mode (only for UCDS V5)
This section allows you to configure the UCDS V5 adapter for operating in wireless mode. This section describes only configuring the adapter and describing the various modes of operation adapter in wireless mode.
Беспроводные возможности работы адаптера сводятся к пяти режимам:
OFF (USB only) - the adapter will not use wireless features
Adapter will directly connect to PC (WIFI Direct) - the mode in which the user’s PC starts WIFI Direct AP
Note
In this mode, a virtual access point is launched on the PC, which operates PARALLEL to an existing PC WIFI connection. In this mode on a PC, simultaneous operation as a connected adapter is possible UCDS V5 to a PC, and the operation of a PC on the Internet (when connected to a point access via the built-in WIFI adapter of the PC)
Warning
This mode of operation is possible ONLY on the operating system Windows10 x32\x64 and newer
Adapter will wait for connection (AP Mode) - the adapter becomes an access point and waits for a connection to it
Adapter and PC connected to the same network (Router) - you specify the network details to which the adapter will connection
Adapter will directly connect to PC (Hot Spot) - the mode in which the user’s PC the standard Hot Spot functionality starts
Note
From a developer’s point of view, two options are most preferable.
If you have a modern PC and a fresh OS - WIFI Direct mode
In the service conditions, you can connect the adapter to a common service router, to to which your PC is connected using Router connection mode. This connection type will allow you to use the wireless functions of the adapter even on OS Windows 7 x32\x64
Read WIFI adapter configuration
Press the button ‘Read configuration’. In the corresponding windows the adapter’s current wireless settings will appear.

Readed configuration
Write WIFI adapter configuration
Make changes according to your requirements and click the button ‘Save configuration’
Check settings and status
Note
This functionality, in most cases, is only needed for checking work in ‘WIFI Direct’ and ‘Router’ modes.
To check the correctness of the settings, as well as to make sure, that your adapter has successfully connected in the previously selected mode, click button ‘Try to connect’, and then after a while the button ‘Check status’ You should first see that the adapter is in state ‘Trying to connect’.

Attempting to connect
Keep pressing the ‘Check status’ button. After a short the amount of time you need to get the status of that adapter connected and successfully obtained an IP address.

Successful connection
This means that the adapter’s settings are correct and it has successfully connected to of the selected network. At this point, you should go to the section UCDS WIFI Control Center of this documentation.
Warning
If you don’t get a successful connection status, please check properly whether you have entered all the parameters, as well as the mode of operation of the adapter via WIFI.
Setting the WIFI connection mode
For wireless operating mode, there are two options for finding an adapter UCDS and connections to it.
Simple mode - in this mode, when you start the software, it will connect to the FIRST DETECTED UCDS adapter
Tether mode - UCDS software will connect ONLY to the linked one adapter. All other found UCDS adapters on the network will be ignored.
Note
By default, after the first installation of the software, the active connection option is Easy Mode
Warning
Under operating conditions of a car service center, as well as in the presence of several adaptersUCDS, it is strongly recommended that you activate Linking Mode to exclude possible connection to “other” UCDS adapter
