I am sorry to inform you that you're wrong. If you mean that you must have lane assist available and activated in order to 'see' driver alert this way...
I can understand that driver alert makes use of the sensors for lane assist.
But If you mean that LA muist be activated in order to work tha DA, you're wrong. Mine works also when I deactivate the LA.

I think: the camera for LA had to be in the car ... you did not write about configuration of your car
do you have it?

Yes, I do have lane assist, but I always thought that LA works with the sensors.

Well a guy I know, first just had a warning in Driver Alert, but during a session in UCDS, he changed it somewhere, so he has the colors now, which shows him the colors shown above

It should automatically show the colors when driving when it is enabled in the IPC.

If it is greyed out then it is disabled somewhere, most likely the IPMA.... it DOES indeed require the lane keeping system mirror camera (IPMA), so if you don't have this, then it won't work. However, Lane keeping does not need to be turned on. - The mirror for auto high beams only (different sensor) will not work.

The Driver Alert System (DAS) needs to be enabled in IPMA, DE00, DE02, and DE03

Ford has put it fine on board: All data from ANY module that is possible on the mk5 are written on EVERY ECU, regardless of the level of execution. The trick is to conjure them out.

For example, I discovered today that I accidentally made the driver alert visible during one of my sessions. Previously, there was only the warning that you had to get out and drink coffee
Now I have a colored dotted line from green to yellow to red.

I guess those written down here by Dan, are installed on my IPC, according to the files found on my PC.

Your engine is not running, to get the colored line, you have to drove over 65 km/h, below this speed the driver alert is not active and this is shown by grey lines.
